George Madison was born in 1924 in Seattle and moved with his family to Poulsbo in 1937. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1942 and went into the Army Air Corps as an airplane mechanic. He served during WWII in the European Theater with the Ninth Air Force. After he was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps, he enrolled at Eastern Washington College. Here he met his future wife LaDona Dawe and they were married March 21, 1947, in the Federated Church in Cheney. After being married they moved to Poulsbo then to Pasco in October 1949 where they remained for the past 60 years. In 1951 he began working as a radiation monitor and later as a fuel supervisor at the N Reactor. He worked for General Electric then Douglas United Nuclear. He retired from United Nuclear on June 28, 1986. He was a member of the Pasco Eagles Lodge, raised Christmas trees and made plaques for the Franklin County Historical Society. George and LaDona were members of the Tri-City Dixieland Jazz Society and enjoyed attending Dixieland Jazz festivals. George is survived by his wife LaDona, children; Mike (Robin) Madison, Chuck (Cynthia) Madison, Mitch (Deborah) Madison, Guy (Debbie) Madison, Nancy (Brad) Dodson, Brother Fred (Mary Ellen) Madison, Grandchildren Heather, Heath, Bradley, Kevin, Jay, Jordan, Ryan, Kyle, Lucas, Brady and Kayla, 10 great grandchildren, niece Amy and nephew Chris. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Fannie Madison. A Viewing held on Friday, March 5, 2010, 4pm-7pm at Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center, 2804 W. Lewis St. in Pasco. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 6, 1pm at First Christian Church, N. 16th & W. Marie St. in Pasco. Interment will follow at City View Cemetery, N. Oregon St. in Pasco. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Franklin County Historical Society and First Christian Church.
