Chester Clinton Burnette, 79, died at his home in Kennewick on July 14, 2010. Chester was born on October 11, 1930 in Ritter, Oregon to parents, Thomas and Ella Irene Surface Burnette. Chester served in the US Army. He married Hatsuko Matsubara on September 13, 1954. They lived in Dayton since 1956, and have lived in Kennewick for seven years. Chester worked as a heavy equipment operator for WSDOT.
Chester was a member of the East Gate Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and amateur radio.
Chester is survived by his wife, Hatsuko Burnette; five children, Mary (Roy) , John (Jo), Peggy (Wayne), James (Marlyn), and Connie (Jack); ten grandchildren, Melissa (Darrin), Trisha, Katie (Sonny), Sam, Whille , Jake, Sarah, Allyson, Joshua, and Esteban; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Lincoln; sister, Margie (Ray) Clark and family.
There will be a Graveside Service held on July 22, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Dayton Cemetery off Mustard Street in Dayton, WA. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick on Wed July 21 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
