
Bessie Bell passed away on July 19, 2010 at the age of 87. Bessie was born in Farnum, Idaho on March 8, 1923 to parents William R. and Louisa Suiter Schofield. She met and married her husband Reed in 1941. After many years owning and operating the R & B Drive Inn in Rexburg, Idaho and raising four children, Bessie and Reed moved to the Tri Cities to be closer to their then grown children in 1975. Bessie worked and retired from HEHF and is remembered by all for her quick wit and amazing cooking skills. She was a favorite at the company potlucks. Bessie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also belonged to the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, and camping. Bessie joins her husband Reed who passed in 1992. She is survived by her children Kent Bell and wife Judy, Dick Bell and wife Joyce, Steve Bell and wife Linda, Julie Bishop and husband Dan; grandchildren Jana, ShaRee, Missy, Brandy, Blake, Kimberly, Quinton, Celeste, Staci, Malory, Brent, K’lei, Jamie, Jason and Ashley as well as 30 great grandchildren; all who loved Bessie dearly. Besides her husband, Bessie is preceded in death by her grandson, John; and daughter-in-law, Lorna. In recent years Bessie had made many friends at the Kennewick Life Care Center and her family would like to thank all that took part in Bessie’s care. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hanson Building, 8120 4th Ave., Kennewick at 11:00 am on Friday, July 23, 2010. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 – 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be held at the Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens in Othello, WA.
