Elsie, I was saddened to hear that Norm passed away last week. He was always so nice and soft spoken. Both of you were favorite patients of mine at the VA in Richland, and I enjoyed taking care of you. May you be comforted by friends and family around you. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Norm Sackett was the very first person acquainted with Ben Franklin Transit that I met. The occasion was the City of Pasco's open house event of their manufacturing warehouses on A street. Norm was my driver on a tour bus, and I had told him I had just put in an employment application with BFT. He wished me luck, and I was immediately impressed with his genuine smile and courtesy. Thus began a 24 year friendship between us. In that time, we went fishing and partying with "the boys" from BFT. Norm was a constant joy to be around, and we all looked forward to be in his company at these fun gatherings. As a dispatcher, Norm was a natural, and above all, FAIR in his discipline and competant in his duties. We all loved him, and I had never heard anyone speak negatively of him. One day at BFT, Norm showed up wearing all WHITE! He had on a white golfer hat, a white golf shirt, white golf shorts, and white golf socks, and white golf shoes! I think it was his friend supervisor Jim Sasser that looked at Norm and noticed Norm's protruding belly, and said,..."Damn Norm! You look just like a Golf ball!" I tend to believe that Jim and Norm are enjoying each others company fishing in some celestial lake far away from BFT. I hope to join them there someday. For Norm, I ask God to forgive him his few sins, and to reward him for his MANY good deeds. To Elsie and his family, I hope his good memories will sustain you through your sorrow. Norm inspired and touched so many lives in a big and positive way. He will be fondly remembered.

May the love of those around you, help you through the days ahead.
It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. I will surely miss Norm pulling out the pocket pairs with a big grin on his face when playing cards - he will be missed!

With Sincerest Sympathy, Stephanie

Dear Elsie and Family -
I am so saddened to hear of Norm's passing. He was such a good friend to me for many years when we worked together at BFT.
He comes to mind when I think of some of the major events in my life. He was the one that called me on my bus radio to let me know my first Grandchild was on the way. He was so happy and excited for me. Then when my Mom passed away in 1994 it was Norm who delivered the news to me when I was about to head out on my route for the day. I remember how kind and compassionate he was. How his big warm hug felt so comforting. He was there through other losses in my life also.
I just loved Norm. He was such a wonderful human being.
My sympathy to all the family at this sad time.
With Love

We are deeply saddened to hear about the death of Norm. This must be very difficult for everyone to lose such a wonderful person. Please remember the family will be in our thoughts.

Norm was such a great person to have provided so many with wonderful lives. We will miss the card games and times we spent with him. We realize how much everyone will miss Norm and we are thankful for the recent opportunity we had to spend with him.

Everyone can take comfort and strength from the wonderful family Norman and Elsie put together. We know love will get the family through this difficult time.

May God bless the family during this time and always.
