Dear Family,

I just want you to know how much I appreciated the example that Arthur Critchfield was to my family. I, and two of my sons, had the opportunity to visit him regularly on church assignment for several years. We were impressed with his determination to take care of his wife for all those years during her afflictions, despite the physical demands required for this care. He was extraordinary in his dedication to her. He always had interesting and uplifting stories to tell us. He was always interested in what was going on in our lives. He was a wonderful man, and we will miss him, as I know you do.

Dear Critchfield Family,

I was a Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice from 2006-2008. I spoke with Arthur many times to arrange someone to come in and stay with your Mom, Leah every other Sunday so he could go to church. Arthur was delightful, always very gracious, thoughtful and at peace with the world around him. On the occasion that we were unable to find a Volunteer for a Sunday, Arthur was always very kind...often saying that it was fine...that another Sunday would come and he would be able to go then. We generally chatted for quite awhile over the phone and he was just a delightful man...so devoted to his wife and family. You all meant the world to him and you were so lucky to have such a gentle, kind spirit to walk with you awhile. I will pray for all of you. I am sure that you have so many wonderful memories that will be in your hearts forever. God Bless you all. Kristi Heffron
